what is the best chocolate chip or sugar cookie recipe that you know??? by alli Q: I'm baking cookies for my friends for all that they have done for me. I need a new cookie recipe(s) for either chocolate chip cookies or regular sugar cookies. I'm looking forward to hearing your answers. Thanx for all of your help guys!

A: I used extra-strong vanilla and used about ½ t extra….and added 2 tablespoons of milk, since the batter was really thick….I also melted the butter before I mixed it with the sugars…and I put larger scoops on the baking sheet than it said to….I made these and brought them to work and everyone was freaking out over them! Chocolate Chip Cookies INGREDIENTS 1 cup butter, softened 3/4 cup packed brown sugar 1/4 cup white sugar 1 (3.5 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix 2 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips DIRECTIONS 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). 2. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugars. Add pudding mix, eggs and vanilla. Combine flour and baking soda; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Fold in chocolate chips. 3. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned.

Looking for soft sugar cookie recipe that has single raisin in the middle? by cocomojo60 Q: When I was a child, an elderly neighbor use to make us the wonderful cookies. They were, I beleive a sugar cookie with a single raisin in the middle. Does anyone have a recipe?

What is your best sugar cookie recipe? by Red Q: Husband loves sugar cookies. He wants the best sugar cookie recipe. Know of any? Today I'm trying Elise M's cookies. Man! You have to work the dough to mix it. I'm new to sugar cookies. Can you tell? At first I was unsure the sugar/egg mixture would turn out, but it did. I'm chilling them now. Would cake frosting work well? I've completed the sugar cookies of Elise M. The centers were a bit doughy. Other than that, they were good. Nice and fluffy.

A: 1/2 cup butter 1/2 cup shortening 2 cups sugar 3 large eggs 2 teaspoon vanilla 5 tablespoons sour cream 4 cups flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1/2 teaspoon salt Cream shortening, butter, sugar; add eggs, vanilla and sour cream. Mix till creamy; add sifted dry ingredients: salt, soda, and flour. Chill for several hours or overnight. Roll into balls and flatten with bottom of sugar coated glass. Bake at 350° just until the edges start turning color. Time will vary depending on how large and thick you made your cookies. It is important not to overbake if you want the texture to remain chewy and soft. Decorate as desired. also 1 cup sugar 1 cup butter 1 cup powdered sugar 1 cup vegetable oil (NOT olive oil!) 2 large eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon cream of tartar 4 1/8 cups flour Cream sugar, butter, powdered sugar, and oil. Then cream in eggs and vanilla. In a separate bowl mix baking soda, cream of tartar, and flour. Start adding dry ingredients to creamed ingredients less than 1 cup at a time. Chill in refrigerator at least 2 hours. Drop 1-2" balls on the cookie sheet. If you would like, you can flatten the balls with the bottom of a drinking glass that has been dipped in sugar. Bake at 350° for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are browned. You can also sprinkle on cinnamon and sugar, colored sugar sprinkles, etc. both good frosted.

Anyone have this sugar cookie recipe? by Mommy of 5 Q: I am looking for a sugar cookie recipe that was on a pamphlet like booklet from M&M's. It came in a tin with a cookie cutter and a bag of (I think) M&M minis to bake with. I got it probably 10 years ago at a Meijer store. This is my favorite sugar cookie recipe and I can not find it. If anyone has this I would love to get it. Thanks for you help!

A: I went to the M&M website and this is the recipe I found, I dont know if it is the one you are talking about but you can search the website for the one you need, that is if they have it posted. 1 cup (2 sticks or 240mL) butter or margarine 1 cup (240mL) granulated sugar 1 large egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 cups (480mL) all-purpose flour 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 12-ounce package (1 3/4 cups or 340g) M&M's"® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Mini Baking Bits granulated sugar as needed Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy; add egg and vanilla. Combine flour and baking soda; add to creamed mixture just until blended. Stir in "M&M's"® Chocolate Mini Baking Bits. Shape dough into 1-inch (25mm) balls. Place on greased cookie sheets about 2-inches (50mm) apart. With bottom of glass dipped in sugar, flatten dough very slightly so as not to crush "M&M's"® Chocolate Mini Baking Bits. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are light golden; let cool 1 minute before transferring to wire rack to cool completely. Store in tightly covered container. MAKES ABOUT 4 DOZEN COOKIES.

What can I add to a sugar cookie recipe to add flavor? by San Jose Mommy Q: I want to make some cookies using cookie cutters, but the typical sugar cookie recipe is bland. Is there something to add for flavor? Would I add the almond extract instead of the vanilla that the recipe calls for? O do I add both?

A: just use one of them, go for the flavor you really want, both of them are really aromatics, their flavor profile might not complement each other. You may add a little coffee as a secondary flavor and also try to substitute half of the sugar you use with brown sugar or if you could get "mascovado" (raw brown sugar), it has a more distinct aroma than regular table brown sugar. Do not substitute entirely with brown sugar coz the cookie might get soft and chewy. Lastly, you may want to bake it on an oven that uses charcoal or fire wood to give it a smokey hint but i think this is a long shot in your area... maybe you can add a little smoke flavor to your batter...

Is there a recipe for one sugar cookie anywhere? by Help_Me Q: My son has cookie day today(I totally forgot). I could run to the gas station and get one, but I wondered if there was a simple just bake one sugar cookie recipe anywhere. I can't seem to find anything. I don't want to make a whole batch. Is there a cookie that doesn't use eggs?

A: No, because it takes at least one egg to make a batch of sugar cookies. You'd need to divide an egg into 12 or 20 parts in order to get the little amount needed for just one cookie. Sorry, I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for. ADDED LATER: Yes, there are cookies that don't use eggs.....but no good sugar cookie is egg-free. Sorry.

Does anybody know of a good sugar cookie recipe using Splenda packets? by oniatario Q: A friend of mine gave me a whole box of Splenda packets and I am thinking I can use them in a sugar cookie recipe so I can decorate sugar cookies with my daughter. Thanks for all the help, its really moving me along. This has been a big problem with my daughter since the holidays, with her wanting to decorate cookies. I will be happy to solve it in time for Valentine's day which is just around the corner!

A: This is a very good recipe: SPLENDA NO-SUGAR SUGAR COOKIES 3/4 Cup Unsalted Butter 1/4 Cup Light Butter 1 Cup SPLENDA® Granular 1 Tbsp. Vanilla Extract 1/4 Cup Egg Substitute 1/4 Cup Water 3/4 tsp. Vinegar (white or cider) 1 1/2 Cups All Purpose Flour 1 1/2 Cups Cake Flour 1/4 tsp. Salt 1 tsp. Baking powder Preheat oven to 350°. Lightly oil a cookie sheet and set aside. Blend together butters, SPLEND® Granular and vanilla in a medium sized mixing bowl. Blend until butter is softened. Add egg substitute, water and vinegar. Mix briefly. Add flours, salt and baking powder. Mix using low speed (or by hand) until dough is formed. Do not over mix. Remove dough from bowl and place on a floured work surface. Divide dough in half. Pat each half into a circle. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate approx. 1 hour, allowing dough to chill. Remove dough from refrigerator and roll out on a floured work surface to desired thickness (approx. 1/4 inch). Cut with cookie cutters. Place cookies on a lightly oiled cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 350° oven 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned on the back. Cool on a wire rack. Enjoy!!!♥♥♥

Does anyone have a good sugar cookie recipe? by nebraska_mom Q: I am looking for just a plain sugar cookie recipe, not a cookie cutter sugar cookie, my problem is this; I cannot find a recipe that gives me a plump, fuller sugar cookie all the ones I use they end up flat after I get them out of the oven. Or if you have any suggestions that would be great. Thank You

A: Drop Sugar Cookies 2 1/2 cups sifted all-purpose flour 1/2 teaspoon baking soda ¼ teaspoon salt 1 cup butter 1 cup sugar 1 egg 1 teaspoon vanilla extract ¼ teaspoon almond extract 2 tablespoons milk red sugar crystals or green sugar crystals Preheat oven to 400°F. Sift together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until fluffy. Beat in egg, vanilla and almond extracts. Add the flour mixture and beat until smooth. Add in milk and beat. Drop by teaspoonful - about 3 inches apart - onto greased baking sheets. Flatten with bottom of a glass that has been dipped in colored sugar crystals. Bake for 10 minutes or until edges are lightly browned. Cool on racks. Makes about 5 dozen. The drop sugar cookies always end up more plump than regular ones, they'll be nice and rich and chewy in the center and a bit crisp on the edges. Enjoy!
