Potential striking signings for Newcastle United this summer? by Q: As i think it is abundtly clear to anyone who follows us, that we need a new striker. So far we have; Peter Lovenkrands - A once good Dane with speed and a mean finish. Still capable of putting it away but lacks pace or any real dribbling ability. And can't play a full 90. Nile Ranger - A once great prospect with a fantastic sprint speed. Couldn't hit the broad-side of a Renault Espace. Leon Best - A good striker, a bit injury prone but, with the exception of Demba Ba, our only REAL prospect up front. Can finish but never seems to put the time in. Shola Ameobi - 12 years and we're still waiting for 'the form of his life'. Don't get me wrong, he has served us well and i DO rate him... Just not as our main striker. Phil Airey - Great potential but very young. Give him 2 years. Demba Ba - Our only hope of threatening opposition goal on a regular basis. Will be the signing of the season for Newcastle, Yohan Cabaye not included. So who could we get? We've been linked in recent days with M'Bengue, Pavlyuchenko, Bentdner (lol), Beckford and Stokes. Andre; Two things happened. First, Mr Erdinc insisted he was happy at PSG... And then PSG decided not to let us talk to him. Forget about that transfer, we've no chance. Kiwi-Bro - Yes, i agree. Bentdner could be good for us considering he won't have much competition. Just enough to keep him on his toes but he would be given key player status... Him and Demba Ba would be a good partnership. Pavlyuchenko - I like him, i rate him and i think he is a lot better than people give him credit for. But, having said that, i don't think he fits the Newcastle mould. And his age is a factor, we're going for young guys. Jerome - Good player but i don't think he fits our mould either. Wouldn't be a bad signing though. Would love to see Sturridge or Vela here, even if they are just loans...

A: Pavlyuchenko would be a great signing for Newcastle. But other's like Cameron Jerome from Birmingham or Bentdner (he might come good if given decent game) or even some loan signings like Sturridge, Vela or Kiko Macheda could help them acheive a successful season.

JOEY BARTON STRIKES AGAIN!!!!!? by CFC ♪♫ Careefreee ♪♫ Q: 1956: GOAL Newcastle 1-0 West Brom Ryan Donk brings down Shola Ameobi for one of the easiest penalty decisions Mike Dean will ever have to make, and guess who steps up... yup, it's cuddly Joey Barton who sends Scott Carson the wrong way and runs towards the Newcastle fans punching the badge on his chest. always with the punching...still...better then hitting kids i suppose

The song is sung by a man, it might be a group, it's quite laid back with an acoustic guitar used. I'm sure the lyrics were "falling, falling... falllling", I'm sure it was.

Newcastle/spurs fans - is this match report accurate? by jonas Q: Newcastle maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign after Shola Ameobi fired home a late Newcastle equaliser in a thrilling 2-2 draw with Tottenham at St James Park. It was the visitors who looked set to extend their winning streak to five consecutive matches after Jermain Defoe put Tottenham 2-1 ahead in the 68th minute, but Ameobi came off the bench to rifle the equaliser past Brad Friedel five minutes from time. Rafael Van Der Vaart had put Tottenham ahead late in the first-half from the penalty spot but Newcastle levelled within minutes of the restart with Demba Ba tapping home from close-range after good work from Jonas Gutierrez. It took the best part of 40 minutes for the game to produce the first real talking-point and it came when Steven Taylor brought down Emmanuel Adebayor inside the area. Yohann Cabaye lost possession deep in the Newcastle half and the ball broke kindly for Adebayor who surged forward and, despite knocking the ball away from goal, was tripped inside the area by Steven Taylor who had recklessly hung a leg out. Referee Lee Probert was well placed and needed no second opinion from his assistants to award Tottenham the penalty which was converted by Rafael Van Der Vaart five minutes before half-time. Newcastle were level three minutes after the restart with Jonas Gutierrez driving down the left-wing, beating Kyle Walker before standing up a cross for unmarked Demba Ba to equalise. Tottenham reacted well to the equaliser and had chances to restore the lead but Adebayor, whose first touch was costly, shot wide of the target and Van Der Vaart fired straight at Krul from close-range. Jermain Defoe replaced Van Der Vaart in the 63rd minute and struck within five minutes of coming on when he swivelled at the edge of the box and fired a low shot past Tim Krul to make it 2-1. Ben Arfa & Ameobi were thrown on by Alan Pardew for the remaining eighteen minutes and the substitutes had an immediate impact. The peppy Ben Arfa was proving problematic for Spurs with the Frenchman finding himself at the heart of everything Newcastle created. Brad Friedel had to be alert with Tiote & Ryan Taylor shooting from distance; however he could do little about the equaliser such was the velocity of the strike. Shola Ameobi collected a pass from Ben Arfa and rifled home the equaliser past Friedel five minutes from time to earn Newcastle a deserved point. Although neither team deserved a defeat, there was still time for both teams to register chances at the death with Krul denying Defoe and Coloccini squandering arguably the chance of the game at the other end. The result ensures Newcastle retain fourth place in the Barclays Premier League while extending their unbeaten streak to nine in all competitions.

A: Nice job. I just finished watching the game ,and you called it well. It was a wickedly tense match as draws usualy are. But played well on both ends. The match of the weekend I think.

Does anyone else find it peculiar that all these Indian or Middle Eastern users just seem to copy and paste...? by Q: Random answers to questions then paste those answers in a totally unrelated question? I mean, why? FQ: Agree or disagree; With Tim Krul, Collocini, Campbell, Williamson, S.Taylor, Guttierez, Tiote, Gosling (when he's back), Ben Arfa (when he's back), Nolan, Vuckic, Barton, Carroll, Ranger and of course Shola Ameobi... Are Newcastle just getting started? With wins over mid-table teams like Sunderland? And starting their climb up the ranks. It was meant to be funny Patel... And no i don't mean Banz and MUFFE... Hang on Patel, just occured to me, i know which 'dutch' comment you refer to, but when did i mention Poles? Simpson still has a bit of a way to go for me... But yes, how did i forget Enrique?

A: haven't got a clue about ur question. but u missed enrique out of the team :) and yes, we're on our way back.....lets see in cashley dusts the cobwebs off his wallet in january haway the lads, lets kick some ARSEnal on sunday

Rate or Don't Rate - What do you think of these players? by Q: Very simple, i list off 5 players at random, and you simply decide whether you think their good or have potential... Or even if they simply get the job done. If the answer is yes, then put 'rate' next to their name. If no, put 'don't rate'. Shola Ameobi - Nicklas Bendtner - Jack Rodwell - Hugo Rodallega - Gabby Abgonlahor -

A: Don't know what he's doing at Newcastle when they have Best and Ba. Very underrated and quite young, gets goals and assists, if he was English everyone would be sucking his dick. Average player, nothing special just gets overhyped because he is English. Decent player at a poor club. Was decent in 08-09 season has suffered from lack of first-team action, injury and loss of form.

Is it still ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS to say Spurs could finish 3rd? by Yid Army Q: Now 6 wins in a row and 10 in 11, if it wasn't for the masterclass that is Shola Ameobi we would be on a 11 game winning steak, 3 away from a Premier League record!

A: well.. with the way that they are treating the Europe league... yes, maybe but.. I wouldn't bet on it

How many goals will Shola 'the Mackem Slayer' Ameobi smash past the Sunderland 'keeper today? by Q: Everyone knows we're Top Dogs in the North East! take your 1pt advantage, i wouldn't trade it for 5-1, 1-1, 6-0, 4-4 and basically just the amazing season we had! Sunderland have had no highlight to their season and have made next to no progress over the last two seasons, despite being one of the highest spenders, so they have to take this 1pt lead as a scrap to pick on so they can fool themselves in to thinking they've achieved something, when really they know deep down we've had the better season. 1pt? lol w/e

A: i was actually looking forward to your north east derby questions anyways i reckon its gonna be a draw, sunderland seems stornger than last season 1-1

Which Ameobi is better? Dinosaur Shola or Puppy Sammy? by Q: TWO AMEOBI'S! THERE'S ONLY TWO AMEOBI'S! Yes Chris you're correct, there is a third. But he is really awful and can't even make the Leeds United first team. He isn't doing anything. Though he did come from Newcastle. THREE AMEOBI'S, THERE'S ONLY THREE AMEOBI'S!

A: lool that is actually quite funny, more funnier than the eboue chants from arsenal fans

Look, Shola AmADivvy (Ameobi) scored... Can we pull it back? by Q: Nah Kitty, you're still a goal to the good :(

A: i can see you winning it please shoot me, you will be doing me a favour

Shola AmADivvy (Ameobi) pens a two year contract at Newcastle - Will that give us a trophy? by Q: What an utter legend he is. ILH so much it hurts sometimes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUYPWtCqFko Torres - Thanks very much Captain Obvious... You know, its true, most Chelsea fans don't have a sense of humour.

A: lol u got 2 ameobi's, c'mon i think thats kinda harsh, his a newcastle boy right and he may not be a prolific goalscorer or even a important player for newcastle but he has contributed

What has Shola Ameobi done that most Premier League strikers have NEVER done and NEVER will do? by Q: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jACiR7MaJdM Oisin - Lmao, i seen it yeah, in fact i think i used it in a 'question' i posted about Ameobi a few months ago lol... In fairness, Ameobi has had his moments every so often. Shanks - Can't be bothered... And THAT'S NOT TRUE! They may have been drunk but they weren't ramblings lol... Okay they were.

A: Lol there is a video to the right entitled "Ameobi, Premier league legend" lmao. Bendtner scored against Barcelona at the Nou Camp....

Shola Ameobi or Nicklas Bendtner ? by Q: Who is better? I think Nicklas Bendtner

A: Sunderland won Newcastle lost So this week the answer is Bendtner aint it

Obafemi Martins and Shola Ameobi? by ReliableLogic Q: Besides being an Arsenal fan, Im also a Newcastle Fan. Theres always been somethin special about that club.Anyways, Word is that Martins is To move to NewCastle.I think that Is the BEST news Newcastle can have. Him and Ameobi upfront would be a headache for defenders. Anyone else agree with this?

A: The fee is just about right for a striker of his ability, but is Martins the best option we can get? I feel we could use a targetman like Mido. We lack a physical presence and aerial threat upfront since Big Al hung up his boots. Its no point having so much creative elements on the wings to supply the crosses if there's no one at the end of them.

All joking aside, Shola Ameobi SHOULD have ALL of your respect...? by Q: A veteran of professional English football for 14 years. A honorary Geordie. He played his first game for us 14 years ago and he has never, ever abandoned us. He's relished in the good times, and stuck with us through the bad. Just like any other Newcastle fan. I'd rather have him than 10 Andy Carroll's. 48 goals in 238 professional appearances for Newcastle United. He's had his fair share of offers. Stoke City (though he went on loan for a bit), Wigan, Rangers... Even Spurs were interested at one point. But he turned them all down for the Black&White. Say what you like about his ability. But don't ever knock his spirit. He gives 100% every game, and no matter what happens, he always seems to crop up and rescue us at the last moment (well, almost always). So, a Newcastle legend, a Premier League legend. A football Legend. Shola Ameobi, we salute you! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUYPWtCqFko tOuz - The other two have yet to earn such respect! Retract and alter your answer accordingly at once! The Problem - I left Dave behind... I go by Matt now. Seriously guys, honest answers and opinions. Be serious :( Shanks - Dammit man, real answers! :( tOuz - Have shex with him? He needs it i think.

A: im sorry but i divide my respect equally to all three Ameobis haha i dont know what to say.. it seems you dont need an answer but more like you want me to built a stuatue for him hahaha

Will Newcastle and Shola Ameobi have a third clear penalty over-ruled? :P? by Q: First he held im back on the run and then he pulled him to the ground ::)

A: As a Geordie (which I am not, but I love Geordies! Aye, Marre), I think this question would be well pondered in the Potter's Wheel or the Rising Sun pubs (if they are still there) up near Sunniside and Marley Hill. But I'm a Yank from the Upper Midwest of the U.S., so I'm sure there are far more pubs to ponder this in, that I have not visited. Good Luck!!

How many penalties has Shola Ameobi scored? and has he ever missed? by Q:

A: Have a look - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shola_Ameobi He's scored at least one! Great goal against Spurs last week!

Shouldn't Fabio consider Shola Ameobi and Kevin Nolan for England? by john englar Q: It looks like the stupid prick went to the wrong game again. He is obsessed with Spurs.

A: yes - he is finished as far as a manager goes. Fabio was put there by the Prince, Earls, Lords and Sirs of England. His face and demeanour fit. He is just fattening up on £6 Million a year of English money for his retirement at his villa mansion in San Canzian d'Isonzo, Italy, drinking £3000 a bottle wine. Shola Ameobi and Kevin Nolan should be in the squad for sure, but Newcastle have not been in the Premier long enough. Sheer snobbery. Fabio Capello is a snob.
