Create 2 teams full of keepers.But the keepers should be playing at present? by Gocharan Q: MINE would be Team1: 1.Brendon Taylor-Zim 2.Matt Prior-ENG 3.A.bde Villiers-sa 4.Denesh Ramdin-wi 5.Mushiqfur Rahim-bang 6.Kumar Sangakkara-sl 7.Mark Boucher-sa 8.Tatenda Taibu-ZIM 9.Brad Haddin-Aus 10.Phil Mustard-Eng 11.Prassana Jeyawardene-Sl Team2- 1.Robhin Uthappa-ind 2.Dinesh Karthik-ind 3.C.Ambrose-eng 4.Kamran Akmal-pak 5.M.S.Dhoni-ind 6.Brendon Mccullum-nz 7.Carlton Baugh-wi 8.Sarfraz Ahmed-pak 9.Hopkins-nz 10.Niell O Brien-ire 11.Obuya-ken Which Team can win if both teams play against each other? Who will be opening batsmen captaion wicketkeeper opening bowler??????

A: Team 1: 1. Brad Haddin 2. Mark Boucher 3. AB de Villiers 4. Andrew Hall 5. Thami Tsolikele 6. Brendon McCullum 7. Lou Vincent 8. Gareth Hopkins 9. Chris Nevin (who remembers him?) 10.Denesh Ramdin 11. Carlton Baugh 12th Man: Patrick Browne Team 2: 1. James Foster 2. Geraint Jones 3. Matt Prior 4. Phil Mustard 5. Tim Ambrose 6. Chris Read 7. Paul Nixon (see, almost a team full of English keepers) 8. Dinesh Karthik 9. Mahendra Singh Dhoni 10.Parthiv Patel 11. Kamran Akmal 12th Man: Safraz Ahmed Team 3: (we can have a triangular series) 1. Kumar Sangakkara 2. Prasanna Jayawardene 3. Adam Parore (he's returned for the IPL) 4. Matthew Sinclair (occasional keeper) 5. Marcus Trescothick (same as above) 6. Khaled Mashud (still active, selectors don't care) 7. Mushfiqur Rahim 8. Dhiman Ghosh (new kid on the block) 9. Tatenda Taibu 10.Brendan Taylor 11. Kennedy Otieno 12 th Man: David Obuya/Niall O'Brien In a Test match between Team 1 and any of the others, Team 1 would win (too many English in team 2, too many part-timers in team 3). Between Team 2 and 3, I fancy team 2 on the back of the performances of MS Dhoni and Kamran Akmal.

Rashid Latif Launches Karachi Champions League ,Your Comments? by Haneef Q: Former Pakistan wicketkeeper Rashid Latif and the Karachi city government have come together to launch, from next week, what might be the most lucrative club tournament to have been played in Pakistan. The Karachi Champions League, a Twenty20 league, for the leading clubs of the city will begin next week with Rs 10 million (around USD 117,200) as the top prize for the winners. The tournament, a brainchild of Latif and the Rashid Latif Cricket Academy (RLCA) will feature a number of Karachi-based international players, as well as a host of domestic cricketers. Younis Khan, Shahid Afridi, Khalid Latif, Fawad Alam, Khurram Manzoor and Sarfraz Ahmed, among others, will be playing. "It was an old idea of mine, one that I had been working on," Latif, who captained Pakistan as well, told Cricinfo. "I am a big follower of English football and I love the history of clubs over there, like Chelsea and Fulham. We have so many old clubs in Karachi and we need to revive that club culture once again here." The idea was put into practice after Latif ran the idea by the city's mayor Mustafa Kamal during what was supposed to be a five-minute meeting. "We ran the idea by him and he agreed after a minute," Latif said. The prize money has been put up by Kamal's city government; as well as the winning club getting Rs 10 million, the runners-up will receive Rs 5 million (around USD 58,900), the semi-finalists Rs 500,000 (around USD 5900) each and the quarter-finalists Rs 250,000 (around USD 2900). All told there is Rs 17 million (nearly USD 200,000) in prize money at stake, easily the most lucrative local tournament in the country's history. The tournament is expected to last nearly a month and will be played at various grounds around the city that are supervised and run by the RLCA. Malir Gymkhana, North Nazimabad CC, Korangi Al-Fatah CC and Airport Gymkhana are some of the more renowned 16 clubs in the tournament and each will be allowed only one international player. The tournament will be televised on Geo Super, a local sports channel and plans are already underway to make it a national league - the Pakistan Champions League. "Karachi is the financial centre of Pakistan and a lot of MNCs are based here," Latif said. "The plan is to get them to sponsor a club each. Next season we will introduce player trading and hopefully in time, it can be pushed to a national league."

A: i find it most encouraging that this league will grow organically relying on already very historical cricket teams from the karachi area. The money and exposure available may improve grass root level cricket standard in pakistan which could be a good thing, if not for batting or bowling much (since its t20), fielding should improve. The idea of this league extending to further parts of the country is great too as Lahore has many historic clubs as well. It will also give a huge number of Karachi based cricketers national exposure. As long as it is run efficiently and is competitive i think this could be a huge success. Rashid does a lot for Pakistani cricket, and it would be nice if his venture could give him some material returns too.

Pakistan drop ICL players from World Twenty20 list? by Haneef Q: e Pakistan Cricket Board has backed out of a potential face-off with the ICC and the BCCI by dropping three ICL players from its list of 30 probables for the ICC World Twenty in June. In a face-saving measure, the PCB has placed Abdul Razzaq, Imran Nazir and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan on standby pending ICC approval. They have been replaced by Saeed Ajmal, Zulfiqar Jan and Mohammad Hafeez. However, it's understood that the ICC is highly unlikely to grant any such approval when its board meets in Dubai on April 17-18 to decide on the issue. The PCB on Monday officially broke ranks with the Indian board, a traditional ally, by naming the three ICL players without approval from the ICC, the tournament organisers. The 17 ICL-contracted players from Pakistan were allowed to participate in domestic cricket after the Sind High Court temporarily lifted the ban in February. Wicketkeeper Zulfiqar is the only uncapped player among the three replacements. Ajmal, the offspinner, last played in the third ODI against Sri Lanka in Lahore this January while batsman Mohammad Hafeez hasn't represented his country since October 2007. Pakistan Squad: Younis Khan (capt), Salman Butt, Nasir Jamshed, Khalid Latif, Shahzaib Hasan, Ahmed Shehzad, Umar Amin, Misbah-ul-Haq, Faisal Iqbal, Fawad Alam, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Sohail Tanvir, Yasir Arafat, Kamran Younis, Shoaib Akhtar, Umar Gul, Rao Iftikhar Anjum, Aizaz Cheema, Mohammad Aamer, Wahab Riaz, Imran Ali, Danish Kaneria, Abdul Rehman, Yasir Shah, Kamran Akmal (wk), Sarfraz Ahmed, Saeed Ajmal, Zulfiqar Jan, Mohammad Hafeez

A: It's a sensible if spineless and decision. The first Question is Why did they pick them in the 1st place?. Did they forget these players turned there back on Cricket for money? Did they forget that the BCCI and the ICC would strongly be against the inclusion of these players? The second Question is Why did the PCB take the players out? What was the point in picking them in the 1st place? If the PCB felt strongly enough to pick them in the original squad then they should stand with there decision instead of quickly abandoning it. Yes Pakistan can't afford to make more enemies and dropping the players saves them from that! And the ICL players don't deserve to play! they turned there back on Cricket for money!
