Lipton bottled green tea as good as green tea from a tea bag? by IwannaGetSlimmer Q: Basically I just wanna know if the green tea in the bottle is just as good for you as making the green tea yourself at home? I am just thinking of news ways to try and trim a few pounds before going to Vegas this June. Any tips or advice would be great!

A: Bottled Lipton Green Tea has 21 grams of sugar in it. Therefore, it is composed mainly of corn syrup. Drinking liquid sugar is definitely counter productive towards a diet and exercise program. I suggest spending 2 dollars at Wal-mart and buying actual green tea. In teabags. Or running a little.

How is green tea good for your health? Why is green tea so popular? by lac Q: I got a bottle of lipton green tea with citrus out of a machine today. It tasted ok eventhough i don't like tea. Why are people so crazy about Green tea? (no long cut and paste answers please)

A: well..it's healthy for you for several reasons, one of them that comes to mind is the egcg in it that is good for your metabolism, other than that, i also think it tastes good [though i hate the lipton citrus kind]

What is the difference between green tea and green tea powder? by Ki-La <3 Q: I am making a mask and I don't have powder, but I do have green tea. so is there a really big difference?

A: Yeah, I think this is it, not sure though. But, I had a recipe for a cake that had green tea powder in it. And I think, not sure, that it's dehydrated green tea or something.

How do you make green tea a citrus taste? by Wisdom Seeker Q: I love the lipton green tea citrus taste but I'm not too fond of normal green tea, cause the tea taste. How can I make my tea taste more citrus without adding calories?

A: Add a bit of lemon juice. There's not many calories in it and a little goes a long way (it's very strong).

What is a good green tea to drink if I don't like the taste but like the health benefits? by Lauren Q: I like the health benefits of green tea, but I've never really liked the taste of tea. I'm willing to try it again though, but I'd like to know a brand of green tea that is a good one that you think non-tea lovers will enjoy.

A: I like Arizona Green Tea with plum.

Does Green Tea make your body acidic or more alkaline? And does Green Tea help treat indigestion? by Mitchell C Q: I want to keep my body as alkaline as possible, and at the same time keep my Growth Hormone high, and also keep my body loaded with antioxidants and polyphenols. Does Drinking Green Tea have an alkaline effect on your body or acidic effect? I like to go on short fasts frequently (no more than 1 day) and I like to drink Green Tea on an empty stomach.

A: I'm not sure about the acidic thing ,but I do know that my high blood pressure went down about 10 points in the two months that I have brewed and drank it.

A: Some people say 2 weeks, but I brew a new batch every week just cause I don't wanna risk it losing any vitamins and other good stuff in it while it's in the fridge. It's up to you though.

What does green tea do and what is it good for? by Knowledge Box 1996 Q: What is green tea do and what is it good for?

A: To sum up, here are just a few medical conditions in which drinking green tea is reputed to be helpful: What makes green tea so special? The secret of green tea lies in the fact it is rich in catechin polyphenols, particularly epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG). EGCG is a powerful anti-oxidant: besides inhibiting the growth of cancer cells, it kills cancer cells without harming healthy tissue. It has also been effective in lowering LDL cholesterol levels, and inhibiting the abnormal formation of blood clots. The latter takes on added importance when you consider that thrombosis (the formation of abnormal blood clots) is the leading cause of heart attacks and stroke.

What are some good ways to make green tea? by momgoncrazynKY Q: I love sweetened black tea, but would like to start drinking green tea. Can I use green tea for sun tea? How do I do it?

A: I've never tried making sun tea with green tea, but I've tried several instant iced tea made with green tea and they were good. Go for it!

what is the name of the green tea they serve at japanes sushi places? by kerr to u Q: I know its green tea because I ask them, but it has a distinct flavor that is much different than the green teas that I have at home. I've been to a couple different places and the tea is the same, any suggestions?

A: Go to a Japanese food market and look for green tea. The most common brand you will see is Yama Moto Yama. If they do not carry that then ask one of the clerks to help you. READ THE LABEL. I CANNOT SAY THAT ENOUGH BUT READ THE LABEL. BE SURE IT READS PRODUCT OF JAPAN. You DO NOT want green tea coming from China. No body knows how much 'other' substances they use when producing items such as green tea. Be Careful.

What's the difference between Lipton brand premium pyramid green tea and the 100% natural green tea? by Gtea Q: I am considering starting a 2-3 drink a day of self brewed green tea. I want to know if I should stick with the mandarin orange premium pyramids I currently have, or go to drinking the 100% natural stuff they offer. I was considering buying a more expensive imported tea, but I wanted to ask if it is truely worth it over the two Lipton teas stated before. I was thinking maybe buying a bit of the good tea for a treat of better tea every once in a while if it isn't a dramatic difference between Lipton and true green tea. Thanks for any and all help you can provide me with.

A: As an avid tea lover, I can tell you that the only difference between plain green tea and the mandarin pyramid lipton kind is that of flavor. I'm sure both contain green tea and are good for you and will benefit your health equally. this is my opinion. Also, the mandarin pyramid bags (which are pretty cool) allows the tea leaves and mandarin parts to expand more. Also the bags are made of nylon I believe. To me, this makes a little difference in taste, but not much.. To me, it's all marketing. I personally like all types of tea. 100% plain green tea, flavored green tea, Sencha (japanese), white tea, flavored white tea, chai tea, earl grey, etc etc. I wish I knew the brand of "imiported tea" you mentioned. There are so many that I think you should start out with whatever you might like best. Then you can have different kinds after a while. Just remember, they're all good for you.

Why does green tea or anything with green tea in it make my tummy hurt badly? by Oranges Boranges Q: Green Tea drinks are so tasty to me,but after a couple of hours it tears my stomache apart completely! (especially the straight green tea) It hurts soooo bad that I want to cry almost lol, and it makes you run to the bathroom and have terribly sharp griping pains. Is this just me or is it the green tea?

A: Does this happen with a freshly-brewed cup of straight green tea? Or is it just bottled green tea? The reason I ask is, many bottled green tea drinks use a concentrated tea extract (and not even that much of it) along with God knows what other chemicals, additives, and food derivatives. Like Arizona green tea, it tastes like honey water to me. So your body could be reacting to an additive, or to a chemical reaction with the various ingredients. That said, if you get the same reaction from brewed green tea, or even black tea, then you know what did it! Black tea's chemically very similar to green. And while I've never heard of a green tea allergy, I have heard of caffeine allergies. A doctor can test you for such things pretty easily, too. Good luck! If you're allergic & need a replacement for tea, you know where to find us. :)

What brand name green tea helps you lose weight? by Q: I just drank Salada green tea and i was wondering if its a good weight loss tea. I also read that, i think its called, Dragon Well green tea will do it too? idk. I was wondering if anyone out there knows any good weightloss green teas. i dont want extract, just a good green tea to lose some weight. please answer back, thanks!

A: Hello Katie, The best way to lose weight is through a balanced diet and regular exercise. Green Tea is a powerful antioxidant that can aid in weight loss by improving your metabolism, which in turn allows your body to burn fat faster. Green Tea contains an active ingredient, epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) which is known for its antioxidant activity. Recent studies have shown that Green Tea reduces food intake, decreases leptin levels and increases thermogenesis. It is usually recommended to drink 3-4 cups of Green Tea a day in order to receive its full health benefits. I recommend drinking quality Japanese Green Teas. Read more about the Health Benefits of Green Tea here http://japan-australia.blogspot.com/2010/11/green-tea-antioxidant-wonder.html

How many cups of green tea should you drink to really boost your metabolism? by Q: I have been eating really healthy, mainly fruits and vegetables and I exercise for about 1-2 hours per day. I drink about 3 cups of green tea a day but I didn't know if it was enough. I bring my green tea with no sugar, honey or anything added to it. How much does each cup boost your metabolism? And to be really effective, how many cups should I be drinking?

A: i dont think u should drink dat much green tea. because green tea is like coffee but without caffeine(i think) so green tea keeps u awake and full with energy more. i think u should drink only 8 fl. oz. of green tea sometimes not everyday. because most drinks says u should only drink 8 fl. oz. i heard this one tea (i forgot wat its called, srry) can help u concentrate on things and help u study better. some tea have there own special effects.

Is green tea really good for you or is it just hype? by Juice Q: Also, is there a certain brand that is better or more potent? I just buy Bigelow Green Tea from the supermarket. Thanks!

A: Green tea is good as long as you don't overly fill it with sugar. It contains high amounts of antioxidants and little to no caffiene. I use Uncle Lee's brand because it's organic and tastes great but Tazo also makes a really good one. Chai tea is good too but it's very hard to find authentic cha tea in the US. Most of it is a customized blend or offset of chai tea and not the real thing.

Why Japanese green tea tastes/look different than other types of green tea like Lipton and Twinings green tea? by Viridistori Q: I've been trying all many types of japanese green tea (Sencha, Konach, Matcha, etc) and they look way greener and taste very differently than the other one like Lipton green tea, it looked darker and taste bitter, although they're all from the same plant Camellia Senisis?

A: You've been trying different types of Japanese green tea and comparing them with Western brands of green tea that is probably the same type. (Personally, I can't stand Western green teas and no tea from Lipton at all because I think it's poorly made and this affects the taste.) differences as listed in Wikipedia: 玉露 Gyokuro (Jade Dew) The highest grade Japanese green tea cultivated in special way. Gyokuro's name refers to the pale green color of the infusion. The leaves are grown in the shade before harvest, which alters their flavor. Gyokuro has a high caffeine content (Generally 0.16% in infusion[2]), but the significant L-Theanine content of Gyokuro slows down and counteracts the caffeine assimilation, and also the amount ingested is very small (Generally 10ml - 60ml). 抹茶 Matcha (rubbed tea) A fine ground Ten-cha (碾茶: has very similar cultivation process as Gyokuro) used primarily in the tea ceremony. Matcha is also a popular flavor of ice cream and other sweets in Japan. 煎茶 Sencha (broiled tea) The first and second flush of green tea, which is the most common green tea in Japan made from leaves that are exposed directly to sunlight. The first flush is also called Shin-cha (新茶: a new tea) 玄米茶 Genmaicha (Brown-Rice tea) Bancha (sometimes Sencha) and roasted genmai (brown rice) blend. It is often mixed with a small amount of Matcha to make the colour better. 冠茶 Kabusecha (covered tea) kabusecha is sencha tea, the leaves of which have grown in the shade prior to harvest, although not for as long as Gyokuro. It has a more delicate flavor than Sencha. 番茶 Bancha (common tea) Sencha harvested as a third or fourth flush tea between summer and autumn. Aki-Bancha (autumn Bancha) is not made from entire leaves, but from the trimmed unnecessary twigs of the tea plant. 焙じ茶 Hōjicha (pan fried tea) A strong roasted green tea. 茎茶 Kukicha (stalk tea) A tea made from stalks produced by harvesting one bud and three leaves. 玉緑茶 Tamaryokucha A tea that has a tangy, berry-like taste, with a long almondy aftertaste and a deep aroma with tones of citrus, grass, and berries.

What are the benefits of drinking green tea? by Ricky429 Q: I have been drinking green tea for 2 months and all I can feel is my metabolism speeding up. I have been drinking Celestial Seasoning green tea the whole time. Is this real green tea or not? Just wondering.

A: It has been proven that green tea is bursting with health benefits. It acts as a powerful antioxidant, which has been known to help prevent cancer, recover from the harmful cholesterol, and protect against damage caused by free radicals. Medical Benefits: Green tea has many medical benefits, and is known for prevention of the following diseases: Cancer, Rheumatoid Arthritis, High Cholesterol, Cardiovascular Disease, Infection, and Impaired Immune Function Other Benefits: Promotes weight loss- the leaves of green tea plants help raise metabolism in the body. Is regular tea as good for you as green tea? by niko Q: They are always talking about green tea, green tea, green tea. How healthy it is. But I don't like it. I like Earl Grey Tea or something like that with milk in it. Is that just as good?

A: green tea is healthier and has more antioxidents... but if you dont like it, just eat more berries.... 2 strawberries a day gives you all you need.

What is better for weight loss green tea or water? by ♪♫♫♪ Q: I'm currently trying to loose weight. Right now I'm only drinking cold water. But I hear that green tea is good for people that are trying to lose weight. I've never tried green tea. Which one do you think is better H2O or Green Tea?

How is green tea or any kind of tea good for you? by Q: I have always been drinking tea this summer, from green tea to mint tea. And I was wondering when I am drinking these kinds of teas as do they do good for my body, or my face or something?? I would like to know what tea does for you? Thanks:)

A: depends on the type, there are eas for basically everything im 17 and i have been drinking tea since i was 4 years old, lol weird but i love it! green tea is a super anti-oxidant, meaning it can really clean the toxins out of your system, and prevent bacteria and sickness, it clears the complexion, you can even buy powdered mathcha sencha green tea, and use it as a face mask (mixed with water), it can keep you awaake because of the high amount of caffiene you can find teas that help with your immune system, and even ones that help with losing a few extra pounds! google teaopia ,they have teas for EVERYTHING, not to mention the amazing flavours!

Can I make green tea lotion with just green tea and regular lotion? by Q: I have severe facial redness and have heard that green tea is very beneficial. I want to make a green tea moisturizer but all the recipes I've looked at are complicated and contain things like beeswax, which I don't think I want to put on my face. Can I make a more simple version with just some brewed tea and regular unscented lotion? Thanks for the input!

A: no, a green tea lotion/moisturizer is made from extracts and like you said complicated procedures, I imagine if you put green tea in regular lotion, it'll just make it smell funny, or if you put the actual tea leaves in it, you'll have a gritty mess.

Is green tea good for your skin? by veronica Q: I havent really tried green tea because i dont really like tea.......BUT i heard green tea was really good for you!

A: Antioxidents are good for your skin because they fight free radicals which are the little nasties that age you. Green tea is a great source of antioxidents ( I like the iced version from Panera bakery) but there are other antioxident sources if you look for them. Dark leafy greens, red and purple fruits and veggies. Red wine.

How long will green tea last in a water bottle? by kdjpiwjghgtrh Q: I want to make some green tea, put it in a water bottle so I can keep it in the bathroom and apply it as a toner at night with a cotton ball. Will it start getting moldy? (Water doesn't get moldy). It would be easy enough to replace it every week. I read that people use the teabag directly on their face but I think it would be easier to just keep a bottle of green tea in the bathroom. Thoughts?

A: Bacteria will grow in the water.

How do the health effects of green tea and black tea differ? by jimwelch4 Q: I keep seeing the health benefits of green tea. I believe most of these studies are done in Japan, Korea, and Taiwan, where green tea is prevelent. However, I mostly drink black tea. How does the fermentation of tea affect the antioxidant levels, and other phytochemicals?

A: Green tea antioxidants consist mainly of small molecules catechins, such as EGCG, ECG EG etc. During the tea making process, these antioxidants oxidise to form larger molecules such as thearubigin and theaflavin. The evidence is mixed so far, but there are studies that found catechins to be a lot more powerful than thearubigins and theaflavins. However, more studies are still needed to understand why green tea has more health benefits than black tea. Some scientists say there are more green tea health benefits because there are more studies on green tea. It does not make any difference which tea you drink since they are the same species. Personally, I doubt it. If you look at the proportion of studies showing positive results, green tea do better than black tea. The problem is that black tea molecules are larger and more difficult to study. So it will be a while before we understand the difference between them. Why not drink both?

Does milk in green tea really cancel out the good benefits of green tea? How about sugar? by Stacys Mom Q: I herd somewhere that milk in your green tea actually reduces the health benefits. Is that true? And what about adding sugar and cinnamon? Is that ok? Since I herd the milk thing, I've only put 3 teaspoons of sugar and one teaspoon of cinnamon in it, is that fine?

A: Green tea is healthy plain. The milk and sugar won't cancel green tea's benefits, they just add their own problems (sugar isn't good & milk has fat). 3 tsp. of sugar is a lot for a cup of tea. The cinnamon is fine, as long as it's pure, not mixed with sugar. Cinnamon is also healthy. Try things like honey instead of sugar. Honey is a healthier food. It's not better than sugar for a diet or diabetes, but it has its own health advantages (and sugar has none). Lemon is a great addition to tea for flavor.

Can a new green tea drinker start off drinking too much? by gimmieemail2000 Q: I am just starting to drink green tea because I keep hearing how healthy it is, which I havent been the past few years. I hear about 5 or 6 cups is the amount for maximum benefits, but that seems to mildly upset my stomache. Does anyone know if starting off drinking too much green tea is bad? Thanks. Oh, and PLEASE no silly answers.

A: Green tea can interact with certain medicines. Ask your doctor if you are taking anything besides drinking the tea. All things in moderation.

What green tea is best when you want to lose weight? Is Arizona green tea okay to use for it? by xdeath69angelx Q: I wanna lose some weight, not a lot just like 5-10 pounds. If I drink Arizona green tea (Red Apple) will the tea still work for the weight or no? If its not good, where could I buy the good kind? Whats it called?

A: Arizona Green Tea has high fructose corn syrup in it, so a big giant NO to that! Just brew your own, pour it in to plastic bottles & refrigerate. Way cheaper, too! EDIT: You can buy green tea bags at your local grocery store. Some common brands are Celestial Seasonings, Lipton, and Twinings. If you are too lazy to make it yourself, The Republic of Tea is a good, healthy brand that also makes bottled teas in addition to tea bags. It should also be available at the grocery store. If not, here are the websites: http://www.liptont.com/index.asp http://www.celestialseasonings.com/ http://www.twinings.com/home.php http://www.republicoftea.com/ Just remember to always read the ingredients! If it's got anything other than tea and water it probably isn't good for you.

What brand of grocery store bought green tea has the best flavor? by ♪Jackie Blue♪ Q: I bought some Kroger brand green tea bags, and no matter how I prepare it, it tastes somewhat bitter. I steep it 2 1/2 min. Does the amount of time you steep it, have any effect on it's health benefits? To get the most health benefits, is green tea only the best or are other combinations with the green tea ok, such as pomegranate, etc? I do not shop specialty stores for tea, so any suggestions on brands one can find at the grocery that are good is appreciated.

A: my dad gets really good and authentic green tea called genmaicha off the internet, it's great

How can I make green tea taste good? by Melissa D Q: I want to drink Green tea because it has so many health benefits. I have never drank tea, coffee, hot chocolate, or any other hot liquid, so it's hard for me to adjust. I get grossed out by the taste, and I don't like the fact that it's hot. Is there a way to make it taste better, other than milk, sugar, and honey? Also, is the cold Lipton Green tea you can buy at the convenience store just as healthy?

A: Make sure the green tea you buy is a good brand. Try a Korean make or Japanese. Also don't let the tea bag steep too long, it will get bitter. Also you can make a punch with green tea, just add your fave juice and club soda.

Do you have a green tea recipe? by dadz Q: I love lipton's green tea. Do you have a special way of making good green tea? I don't know why but I love tea in the summer and not in the winter. How about you?

A: Peach-Mint Green Tea [5 servings] 2 cups water 5 bags green tea 1 (12 ounce) can peach nectar 1/2 cup fresh mint leaves, slightly crushed 3 tablespoons sugar ice cubes Bring water just to boiling in a saucepan. Remove from heat; add tea bags. Steep, covered for 5 minutes. Remove and discard tea bags. Stir in nectar, mint, and sugar. Cover and chill for 2 to 24 hours (I chilled mine for 8 hours). Strain tea mixture; serve over ice. -------- -------------- -------- Green Tea Zest [4 servings] fresh pineapple - peeled, cored and cut into chunks 2 large green apples, washed and sliced 1 1/4 teaspoons chopped fresh ginger 1 cup brewed green tea, chilled 1 cup mango sorbet or crushed ice Juice the pineapple, apples, and ginger in a juice machine. How much green tea do I need to drink to receive all the health benefits? by ConfusedandCurious Q: I have recently started drinking green tea daily because I read it was an excellent way to boost your metabolism; however, I haven't been able to find anywhere how much green tea I really need to drink to receive all the benefits. A: 3-4 servings after that metabolism benifit are wasted

How many days can you keep home brewed green tea on your fridge? by Swimmer Q: I keep reading those green tea bottles I keep drinking so much are not even good for you. I read the best thing is to drink home brewed green tea. I simply CAN'T drink hot green tea. I don't have time to be making green tea everyday. If I make green tea, how many days can I keep it on the fridge before it goes bad?

A: You are right that bottled tea is not good for you, both because of additives like sugar or sweeteners, and because the chemicals in the tea start to break down after it is brewed. Tea will stay fresh longer if you do not add any sugar to it, because sugar promotes the growth of microorganisms. Iced tea is best if it is fresh brewed, but you usually will not notice much of a difference in it if you let it sit for a day or two. Keep it in a covered pitcher with a lid, in the fridge. Iced tea stays fresh longer in the fridge, and it also Tea staying fresh isn't a question of it being good and then suddenly "going bad" like milk or other dairy-based drinks does. Rather, tea degrades slowly or gradually. If it tastes fresh, it is still fresh. It will start to lose flavor or start to taste slightly off if it's starting to break down. Go by taste, if it still tastes like when you brewed it, it's probably fine. But it's usually not best to keep it more than a few days. You don't need to brew it every day though. Good luck!

What kind of black or green tea to use when making pearl milk tea? by TeaCurdle Q: Hi, thanks for taking the time. I'd just like to know what brands of black tea or jasmine green tea is strong enough because i use Lipton and it's no where near strong enough. Does the black tea need to be made with tea leaves or something similar? Oh and this is a secondary question that I'm just curious about; how do the pearl milk tea shops make such strong tea in such a big quantity? That must cost a lot of money. Thanks once again.

A: don't use lipton, because it's a weak tea. one teaspoon of tea inside a teabag isn't gonna do it if you want a strong tea. if you want strong tea, you need to buy loose black tea, preferably assam (english breakfast), or a assam/ceylon mix (british afternoon tea). you can buy black tea in an asian supermarket too. they also have lots of green tea like jasmine, and oolong. for green, i would get a simple green, not jasmine unless you want it. for a roasted flavor, i would get ti kuan yin which is a darker roast of oolong. if you don't have an asian supermarket near you, look for an indian supermarket. indian supermarkets should have one of the ctc teas like brooke bond red label, or lipton yellow label. ctc ("crush tear curl") teas are dirt cheap, but delivery 5x the flavor, it's like the crack of the tea world, it's the tea that chai masala is made from. the last case scenario is to look at your gourmet market, or at least whole foods market. and look for yorkshire tea, it will be expensive, but the tea bags are large and make a very strong and tasty tea. as for tea shops makign tea. tea leaves can be cheap depending on the grade they use. 1st grade tea (for drinking tea, not bubble tea) can cost upwards of hundreds of dollars a pound, but bubble tea places usually buy the cheap stuff, or blends to smoothen out the flavor. they don't use tea bags.

How do green tea bags reduce undereye puffiness? by tangerine Q: I recently read that putting soaked green tea bags on the eyes was a good way to reduce undereye puffiness. Does the tea have to be green, though? I thought it was the cooling sensation of the bags rather than their content that was responsible for reducing the puffiness.

A: No .. I don't think they have to be green , but green might be better. It helps because of the antioxidants that in the bag.

What type of green tea cleans out your colon? by Laura Q: I've heard that green tea cleans your colon out, and helps flush your system, but what kind of green tea? The bottled kind? Or tea bags? Can you add sugar or cinnamon, or does that make it ineffective? What other foods will help?

A: Green tea is no different that any other food. If it is grown in good fertile soil and processed in the proper way, it can be very good for you. The Japanese drink approximately 22 cups of green tea each day. There are a few problems with green tea. It contains lots of fluoride. This depletes the body of iodine. The Japanese people eat lots of sea weed, fish, and sea vegetables that are high in iodine that compensates for this issue. Green tea also contains lots of caffeine. This causes you to have problems with your adrenal glands due to the high cortisol it generates. The bag green tea, bottled green tea are all radiated or pasteurized and this ruins the biological activity and makes it not that good for you. A good green tea is to find pure green tea that is fresh from a Japanese grocer and then make it fresh. I have found one company that makes a green tea extract that uses a very unique process of using probiotics to remove the caffeine and fluoride, leaving the concentrated form of the pure ingredients that give you all the benefits. 1 teaspoon of this is equal to about 20 cups of green tea. By mixing pure water with it, you have the best of all worlds. You can purchase this on line at: (800) 370 - 3447. They are in Texas and can ship to you. Adding sugar to the tea is just not a good thing to do. It doesn't affect the tea itself, but does affect your body. Adding cinnamon can be a benefit to you if the cinnamon is pure. Green tea in the form I suggest, will help protect you from radiation in the environment and has a very good effect on many organs in the body, but it will NOT clean out your colon. good luck to you

Does the sugar free iced green tea contain as much caffeine as the hot green tea does? by §Aphrodite§ Q: I am talking about the manufactured and processed green tea products such as lipt*n, ar*zona, s*be, etc in contrast to the tea-bag hot green tea. Do both hot and iced green tea have all the same effect and ingredient including the caffeine and nutrients that green tea leaves normally have, except the temperature of liquid?

A: probably not. you probably get more tannins and the good stuff (flavonoids like catechin) from hot green tea cos you leave the tea bag in to steep longer - plus, usually, there's no sugar canned drinks have sugar and they've found the 'perfect' concentration for flavour and aroma which probably means plonk it in, jiggle and sieve, add sugar, perfumes etc. Nothing beats the natural stuff.

Is there a way to make green tea taste like the onces sold on the market like C2? by ya-mae Q: There is this product here in the Philippines called C2. And I like it so much that I want to buy it everyday, but my budget wont allow me to buy it everyday. It's a green tea that's like Nestea Ice tea except that this one is green tea. My brother bought green tea from China and I've been drinking it everytime I remember to drink it. What I'm asking is how to make it taste as sweet as Nestea and C2? I tried adding sugar to it but it doesn't taste delicious nor a likable sweet taste. I want to drink green tea but in a way that I enjoy drinking it. Not a way that I force myself to drink it. Thanks for the suggestions! I'm really in need of them. Green tea has antioxidants that I need badly.

A: you must heat the sugar, water, and tea together to break the sugar down so that it evenly sweetens the tea

What in Green Tea increases endurance and the ability to recover quickly from sore muscles? by a_agnone123 Q: I was just wondering what in green tea actually increases your endurance and if that ingredient is foudn in other common foods of drinks, considering that I do not like the taste of green tea no matter what i mix it with. So what i really am lookng for in an answer is what is that substance in green tea that helps endurance and recovery and also what an equivalent to it is.

A: For bodybuilders, it offers all of these benefits and more. Green tea's ingredient EGCG actually increases exercise capacity by allowing for greater utilization of fatty acids which server as a source of energy during intense workouts. Additionally, green tea can also lead to weight loss. Green tea consumption results in a 24-hour window of increased respiratory ability, which leads to better oxidation performance of the body.

Tazo Green Tips Tea good for you and give the benefits of real green tea? by Sara N Q: Does TAZO [green tea tips] grean tea reallly help you? Like i know how green tea speeds up your metabolism and stuff but is this rreal green tea or just colored...Also what are some more advantages to greentea/tea drinkers like myself :]]

A: as far as I know, there are no tea manufacturers that add food coloring to their tea. The term green tea does not mean the tea will be green. Green is a term used to distinguish the type of tea it is and the level of oxidation that the tea leaves have been subjected to. Green tea has been shown to prevent some illnesses and boosts your metabolism very slightly. It's also has a relaxing calming effect on your body.

What brand of green tea to purchase for all the positive effects? by PD Q: I drink green tea regulary but is there a particular brand which contains more of the goodness of green tea or is it all similar? I live in the UK so I am limited to what they sell in regular stores like tescos. I know green tea is good for you but would for example Tetleys green tea bags have all these good properties aswell?

A: Im pretty sure most of the green tea is similar, and yes - I would believe that the Tetleys tea has the same goodness as the other ones. Also, if your looking at tea to boost your metabolism - Oolong tea can increase the metabolism by nearly double of what green tea can.

How much green tea is actually in a green tea pill? by Q: Me & a friend were talking about a current diet she is on & she mentioned her use of green tea pills. Well as a little side quest I've looked up countless articles on the pros & cons of green tea pills & their effect over the body & weight loss. Some also make a comment about how some companies only add trace amounts of green tea but still boast about how much green tea is actually contained in this tiny pill. Now, my question? How much green tea is actually IN these pills? & How can we tell if theirs actually enough IN the pill to make any difference?

A: Green tea is typically used to help to boost the metabolism, but not by much. Yes, its good for you, but to take it alone as a weight loss pill does little to nothing. There is a reason that diet pills always say "use in addition to proper diet and exercise", because its the proper eating and exercise that is really doing the work. Its not going to hurt her so if taking them helps her aid in her weight loss, dont tell her because more than likely, it is psychosomatic. http://www.webmd.com/vitamins-supplements/ingredientmono-960-GREEN+TEA.aspx?activeIngredientId=960&activeIngredientName=GREEN+TEA&source=2

Green TEA ? by Me : ) Q: What's the best green tea for women to drink?Does it even matter what kind u buy?

A: It should be real green tea leaves that you brew that doesn't have caffeine and stuff added to it!

green tea? by amy Q: I have heard so many things on green tea. I have heard that is is great for your health and it helps you loose weight and exercise and alot of other things. So I am wondering are these things really true? Also what else does this stuff do? It is organic green tea. Thanks!

A: I just finished reading the book "The Ultimate Tea Diet" Great book by the way. I have friends that went on the diet, which basically consists of drinking 8-16 cups of tea a day. They ate whatever they wanted and exercised moderately and drank a bunch of tea(doesn't matter what kind) and they all lost weight some more than others, they all feel better(mentally and physically) and I guarantee you they all look better. It takes about 2-3 weeks to notice any significant changes but tea is so healthy for you....regardless of what kind it is, just make sure you don't put milk or sugar in it.

Green tea? by Shyla ♥ Q: I heard green tea is good for your metabolism and losing weight...but I find it a little bitter....will adding sugar or honey make the effect of Green tea disappear? or is there another way to make it taste more yummy? thanks :)

A: What I learned from my mom is to put a spoonful of honey and squeeze half a lemon to my green tea to make it taste better. It doesn't totally get rid of the green tea taste, but the honey and lemon make it taste yummy for me ;) You should try it :)

Green Tea? by Q: Can you use sugar to make it taste less bitter or are you suppose to drink it raw? What is a good green tea that can be found at local grocery shop? And how many cups a day? Thank you ladies = ]

A: Adding sugar to green tea dilutes the health benefits. The polyphenols (antioxidants) won't be as effective. 1-2 cups a day will make a noticeable difference in your energy level and give you loads of antioxidants. It's also a natural appetite suppressant. My favorite green tea is Stash chai green tea, available in most grocery stores. It has cinnamon and other spices in it. If a soda drinker like me can be content with it anyone can. :-) Feel free to visit my website about green tea (link below).
