What should I do to improve my Fantasy Football team to playoff-caliber? by bluepassion40 Q: I am about to be 3-2 in a 16-team, PPR (1 point per), IDP non-keeper league. TD's are worth 9 for QB's and 12 for all other players. I have noticed that I am only above .500 because my opponents' teams have not performed well when playing against me, but I know that won't last. I would like some advice on how to improve my team to playoff caliber. Here is my team: QB: Carson Palmer RB: Michael Turner WR: Roddy White TE: Jermichael Finley Flex: Lee Evans Flex: Santana Moss K: David Akers BN: Steve Smith(CAR) BN: Marshawn Lynch BN: Justin Forsett BN: Brandon Jackson BN: Donald Brown BN: Julian Edelman BN: Kevin Boss D: Gary Brackett D: Bradie James DB: Leon Hall DB: Antoine Winfield DL: Antonio Smith DL: Robert Mathis BN: Antrel Rolle BN: Vince Wilfork Any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!! Thinking about making a trade to improve my team: My: Michael Turner Carson Palmer Steve Smith (CAR) Their: Jahvid Best Matt Schaub Hines Ward Thought it would be a good idea to buy low on Schaub and Ward. What do you think? Just proposed a trade to the owner of Tom Brady in hopes that he'll want a #1 RB: His: Tom Brady Knowshon Moreno Reggie Bush My: Michael Turner Carson Palmer Justin Forsett

A: This is a very deep league so a big performance by any player could vault you to a win. Carson Palmer is not a great QB but I know that in 16 team leagues it's pretty hard to get someone who is. You're also pretty weak at RB and RB is a position that will win you championships every year. Maybe you should try to put in one of your RB instead of Lee Evans or Moss because RBs will score more TDs than WRs. Obviously you have a good team but it's not an elite team. I think with a few big games by Michael Turner and Carson Palmer you can get in the playoffs. I think you should try to trade Steve Smith too. He's a big name who will get some good players in return. Maybe try to get an upgrade at RB or package a RB for a better QB so you at least have some depth when the Bengals go on bye. Obviously trading Steve Smith has to be the first thing because Carolina has a piss poor passing game and he's riding the bench behind 3 WRs.

Top 5 at every position. What do you think? by Sultan of Football Q: Top 5 at every position. With 1 guy that will be there soon, perhaps by the end of the year. :P Quarterbacks 5: Michael Vick 4: Philip Rivers 3: Aaron Rodgers 2: Peyton Manning 1: Tom Brady (Manning's had a better career, but Brady is better right now.) Will be there soon: Josh Freeman Halfbacks (Whatever happened to the term "halfback" anyway?) 5: LeGarrette Blount 4: Jamaal Charles 3: Maurice Jones-Drew (He was injured a lot last year, but he's still amazing.) 2: Chris Johnson 1: Adrian Peterson Will be there soon: LeSean McCoy Fullbacks 5: Montell Owens 4: Ovie Mughelli 3: Lawrence Vickers 2: Le'Ron McClain 1: Vonta Leach Will be there soon: John Conner Wide Receivers 5: Greg Jennings 4: Roddy White 3: Larry Fitzgerald 2: Calvin Johnson Jr. 1: Andre Johnson Will be there soon: Mike Williams (Maybe not very soon, but soon.) Because Goodel decided to f*ck up the game even more than he already has by pretty much taking kickoff returns out of the game.

A: You're totally disrespecting Philip Rivers, he is the BEST passer in the NFL right now. He doesn't have the best team, but he works with Gates and a bunch of nobodys and gets work done. (Vincent Jackson is NOT a stud receiver, just another benefiaciary of Philip Rivers greatness). If were talking SuperBowls than yes, Tom Brady is number 1, but you dont even have Ben Roethlisberger on there and he has more than Manning. My list of QB's would be 1) Tom Brady 2) Philip Rivers 3) Ben Roethlisberger 4) Peyton Manning 5) Drew Brees. FYI Peyton Manning would NOT have a SuperBowl ring if he wasn't playing against Rex Grossman and the Bears that day.

My new Mock Draft for 2011, thoughts? (1-20)? by Q: 1. Carolina Panthers - Da'Quan Bowers - Hard not to pick him at this point. 2. Denver Broncos - Patrick Peterson - Will Champ Bailey return? 3. Buffalo Bills - AJ Green - Lee Evans is due $8.4M, is he gone? 4. Cincinnati Bengals - Nick Fairley - Best defensive lineman in College Football 5. Arizona Cardinals - Ryan Mallet - They need a QB unless they work something out to get Vince Young. 6. Cleveland Browns - Robert Quinn - Amazing pass rusher, another piece to make a decent Cleveland defense better. 7. San Francisco 49ers - Cameron Newton - Alex Smith won't be back, Newton will be tempting even though he's not the 2nd best QB available. 8. Tennessee Titans - Marcell Dareus - Even with a need at QB, hard to pass him up, maybe Pat Devlin in round 2? 9. Dallas Cowboys - Prince Amukamara - Need to address the need at cornerback and Alan Ball is medicore. 10. Washington Redskins - Jake Locker - Is Rex Grossman is a longtime answer? Unlikely. 11. Houston Texans - Derek Sherrod - Could use a boost at O-Line for Arian Foster 12. Minnesota Vikings - Blaine Gabbert - one of the premier QB's available in the draft, they need one. Bad. 13. Detroit Lions - Janoris Jenkins - "Hurt" themselves winning final 4 games to miss out on Prince Amukamara, Brandon Harris is also an option. 14. St. Louis Rams - Justin Blackmon or Julio Jones - Imagine Sam Bradford with another big receiver? Wow. 15. Miami Dolphins - Mark Ingram - Ronnie Brown may be on his way out. 16. Jacksonville Jaguars - Adrian Clayborn - They need help on defense, Kampman and Mathis can't do it all, also Alualu. 17. New England Patriots (from OAK) - Ryan Kerrigan - Can't pass this guy up, he will help solidfy the Pats. 18. San Diego Chargers - Von Miller - Do I need a reason why you should draft this guy? His name says it all! 19. New York Giants - OT Nate Solder 20. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - OT Anthony Castonzso OR Brandon Harris What do you think guys? Andrew Luck is returning to Stanford, keep that in mind.

Brees wil come in around the 97-99 spot along with payton. Suh wi be a low to mid 80s and that is what it should be (he is a rookie ~ awareness will be very low). sharper won't be rated that high, high 80s to low 90s i think. Polamalu will be rated high then him

What do you think of my position by position analysis of the Super Bowl? by King Of NJ Q: QB-Colts by a small margin. The 2 best QBs in the league today but I think Manning may possibly be the best ever RB-Saints by a small margin. The Colts running game is at the bottom of the league although Addai is effective and ran well last game but the Saints have been effective all year FB-Saints. Give Heath Evans the edge of Gijon Robinson WR-Colts by a small margin. Reggie Wayne is the best WR on the field this game. I think Collie and Garcon may be even if not better than Meachem and Henderson as well TE-Colts by a decent margin- Shockey is good but not nearly as good as Dallas Clark OL-Colts, have done a marvelous job of protecting Manning all year DE-Colts pretty easily. Robert Mathis and Dwight Freeney make up the best DE combo in the NFL DT-Even LB-Even Johnathan Vilma is the best LB on the field for this game but the Colts have a pretty solid LB core, other than Vilma Saints LBs aren't too great CB-Colts by a small margin- Kelvin Hayden is a pretty good CB and Jerraud Powers who was injured last game and didn't play has been solid this year. Jabari Greer and Tracy Porter aren't as good as the Colts CBs in my opinion S-Saints by a small margin. Darren Sharper is one of the NFL's best safeties and Roman Harper has had a nice year as well. Antoine Bethea is a Pro Bowler and really underrated as well for the Colts and Mevlin Bullit has also had a solid year. K-Colts easily. Matt Stover is a vet and a really good kicker. Hartley made the game winner but has only 25 career attempts P-Colts easily too. McAfee has a monster leg. KR- Saints. Reggie Bush and Courrney Roby are dangerous on kick returns. Colts don't do too much on the return game.

Should we re-name the Pro Bowl? by Saints Don't Deserve It Q: Seeing how there's not a lot of decent players left. Players out due to injury(according to NFL.com): Philip Rivers, Tom Brady, Wes Welker, Jake Long, Brian Cushing, Jarius Byrd, Nate Kaeding, Brett Favre, Steven Jackson, Larry Fitzgerald, Sydney Rice, Andre Gurode, Kevin Williams, Lance Briggs, Charles Woodson, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie. Not to mention all Saints and Colts players will be out (COLTS: Manning, Wayne, Clark, Saturday, Freeney, Mathis, Bethea. SAINTS: Brees, Stinchcomb, Evans, Goodwin, Vilma, Sharper, Harper.) Why should we watch mostly nobodys in the Pro Bowl? Shouldn't it be called the toliet bowl?

A: It should be called the Pointless Bowl because no one watches it, no matter who plays.

What do you think of these POPULAR BOYS names (FRANCE)? by { s i l v e r } ιn ωondeяℓαnd Q: What do you think of these names? They're supposedly popular in France right now: Lucas Mathis Mathéo (mah-THAY-oe) Enzo Nathan Noah Raphaël (rah-phah-ELL) Louis Kylian Ethan Hugo Théo (THAY-oe) Yanis Gabriel Thomas / Tom Evan Maxime (max-EEM) Clément (clay-MONT) Arthur I don't know how THÉO is usually pronounced in France, but I have an uncle Théodore (nn Théo) and he pronounces it THAY-oe-dor/THAY-oe.

A: Lucas - Love it Mathis - This screams surname at me, bleck. Mathéo (mah-THAY-oe) - cute, and I think it may be becoming more popular in the US as well Enzo - sounds like a medication. Nathan - nice, but I prefer either Nate or Nathaniel Noah - nice, but I'm getting really sick of it Raphaël (rah-phah-ELL) - it's okay Louis - cute, I like the nn Lou Kylian - sounds very feminine Ethan - love it! Hugo - not bad Théo (THAY-oe) - it's actually probably TAY-oe in France, I'm guessing? It's okay but Mattheo with this as a nickname would be better. Yanis - bleck no Gabriel - LOVE it Thomas / Tom - nice Evan - very nice Maxime (max-EEM) - Sounds too much like Maxine... Max or Maxwell or something would be better. Clément (clay-MONT) - For a French name it's not bad... but if used in the US I don't think it would work very well. Arthur - eh it's okay

If you had sextuplets....? by Julianne B Q: I am watching Jon and Kate plus 8 and just curious what would you name your sextuplets and what would you want the genders be? Note; I do am not having sextuplets and do not want sextuplets. I would want 3 and 3 because I already have 2 girls and 2 boys. So for the boys it would probably go; Nash Lennon Beau James Mathis Evan For the girls I like... Emmaline Jane Violet Paige Alaedra Hope Note; I have four kids of my own Jenna Rose, Kieran Paul and baby A and baby B Since so many people on Y!A are having them I thought it would be fun to here some names.

A: I would want 3 and 3 also. Boys: Graydon Haden Kyler Girls: Cailyn Ashleen Brielle

How about this team in Madden 09!? by Q: I think I picked a pretty nice team. Not the greatest, but not the worst, either. what do you think of this Bronco fantasy draft roster? QB-Marc Bulger HB-Reggie Bush FB-Jim Finn WR-Andre Johnson WR-Devin Hester TE-Ben Watson LT-Ryan Clady LG-Evan Mathis C-Justin Hartwig RG-Maurice Williams RT-David Stewart LE-Leonard Little RE-Darryl Tapp DT-Amobi Okoye DT-Ethan Kelley LOLB-Lemar Marshall MLB-Brian Urlacher ROLB-Pisa Tinoisamoa CB- Deangelo Hall CB-Tye Hill FS-Kenny Phillips SS-Marlon Mccree K-Sebastian Janikowsi P-Jon Ryan What do you think? Any trades you think i should do? Rate 1 to 10 in 3 categories, offense, defense, and special teams and then 1 big grade for the entire team. Devin hester both Kick and punt returners I'm playing all-pro difficulty

A: Not bad. I pick my teams on fantasy draft very similar. OFFENSE- I would give a solid B. Reggie Bush is a beast in the game but not so much in real life. I also use Hester as a #2 reciever because he is very fast and you can get him in the later rounds. DEFENSE- B Plus. Urlacher is an animal who again I also have as my middle linebacker. He gets a lot of picks. ST- A-. You can't go wrong with Devin Hester returning punts and kicks, and Janikowski has a very powerful leg. Overall my man I would give you a B plus.

Who do I start this week: Joey Galloway or Lee Evans? by hfg713 Q: I'm playing in a point-per-reception league. Galloway has been pretty inconsistent lately and is playing the Jags who feature CB Rashean Mathis, who apparently is a great shutdown cornerback. Lee Evans, on the other hand, has done nothing this year fantasy wise, but I feel like he is going to erupt one of these weeks and figure I might give him the start over Galloway. Thanks in advance.

A: Lee Evans. Galloway is losing targets to Hillard and Lee Evans in going against the Jets D which if you haven't notice sucks this year.

NFL Fans: Which players from your favorite team do you believe will be in the Pro-Bowl? by Q: Philadelphia Eagles: LeSean McCoy Jason Peters Jason Babin Trent Cole (60%-40%) Cullen Jenkins Nnamdi Asomugha (name recognizition) Should, but probably won't: Evan Mathis (been playing like one of the best guards this season) Todd Herrersman (been playing at a Pro-Bowl all season despite constant switching in the line) Yours

A: Matt Forte Devin Hester (KR) Brian Urlacher Julius Peppers Lance Briggs Should be but probably won't: Charles Tillman Corey Graham (for ST) Patrick Mannelly (LS)

Who's the anchor of the Eagles O-Line? by Q: I think it's Evan Mathis, they MUST find a way to keep him. Without Howard Mudd he and the rest are garbage except Todd. They need Mathis like Babin needs Jim Washburn and the Wide-9

A: Jason Peters. He had arguably the best season out of any tackle in football this past season. Mathis is very good, especially in the passing game, but he struggles to stay healthy. I agree that they should sign him (2 year deal), but Peters is without question the best player on that line.

Who starts at left guard for the Bengals? by Q: Nate Livings or Evan Mathis?

A: Livings was today, I'd know

Since Evan Mathis doesn't like winning, what will the Ravens do with the guard position? by Q: Will they use Jah Reid? Draft? They went 12-4 and won the AFC North and 1 catch away from the SB. Eagles went 7-9 and have a bunch of problems.

Will the Ravens do better with Evan Mathis instead of Ben Grubbs? by Q: Mathis actually was very good last year but is underrated, and was scheduled to meet with Baltimore. I think if we draft Konz and sign Mathis the interior O-line will be solid, and next year draft a LT, the O-line will be solid for a long time. Flacco needs pass protection because he can't do anything without it.
