Why do international sporting bodies seem to despise Britain/England? by Q: Sepp blatter of FIFA deciding to implicate goal line technology as soon as England get a decision but ignores it when it works against us and now cyclists in the Olympics aren't allowed to compete in as many events to 'prevent dominance', which is a coincedence as Britain are the dominating nation in cycling... I don't see USA swimmers like micheal phelps being limited to one individual race or Usain bolt doing one event but sir chris hoy isn't even alowed to achieve the same amount of medals he got in Beijing... Do we not have the right to dominate something if were best at it?? Dafuq!!

Who are these Team GB cyclists? by Q: I was taking a tour of Manchester Velodrome on Thursday 26th with a group over from Northern Ireland. Was very impressed by the facilities (not that I have much interest in cycling) and we were lucky enough to have our photo taken with some of the guys (only 3 of them came for the photo) who were in training. Though we didnt really know who any of them were. Our tour guide told us that one of the cyclists in training was sir Chris Hoy, however we were also told by someone else that it wasn't him (just someone that looked like him) and that he was in London. The tour guide also talked about a woman who preferred to train with the men's team rather than the womens. http:[email protected]/7671080434/ Who are the 3 guys in the photo, hoping they win the gold now! and any ideas who the woman was and whether or not it was chris hoy.

A: its likley to be sir chris hoy as his mai training ground is in manchester, the woman could have been victoria pendleton an excellent sprint cyclist ive heard her training with the lads before.. im not a massive follower of cycling so im not sure about them 3 men but who cares their in team gb so they must be good

What is the song called on the advert for Make me a Supermodel US on Living TV (England)? by Ivehad2Many Q: It's quite a dancey/trance style song, on the start of the advert on Living TV. Quite fast paced, anyone know what it's called? It was also on the WRC interview with Sebastian Loeb and Chris Hoy, they played it at the beginning. Sounds like a great trace/dance song! Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :-)

A: Calvin Harris, the advert has used a sample/instrumental version

Is my Spanish report error free? by Chris Q: Mi postre favorito Hola, mi nombre es Chris. HERES THE ENGLISH VERSION I TRANSLATED FROM My Favorite Spanish Treat Hello, my name is Chris. My favorite Spanish treat is the churro. Churros were first made centuries ago by shepherds that lived high in the mountains of Spain. It was very hard to come by fresh bread, so the shepherds had to find a way to make their own. They developed a bread that was easy to make and could be made over an open fire in a pan. They named this bread the churro because it looked like the horns of the sheep they cared for, named the Churra sheep. Knowledge of this treat spread throughout Spain and the recipe was perfected. As Latin Americans immigrated to the United States, so did the churro recipe. In Mexico they made their own version which is very thin and crunchy. Although they moved across an ocean, churros did not lose their popularity in Spain either. Today, churros are still a very popular Spanish breakfast, snack or dessert item. To make the churro, the shepherds would roll out a length of dough and fry it in a pan over an open fire. It was not the star-shaped pastry you see today. It was more like a breadstick in shape and size. After cooking, the shepherds would eat it plain or roll it in cinnamon-sugar. The type of churro I learned how to make is the Spanish churro, called a “porra” in Southwestern Spain. It is also called the Spanish doughnut. In order to make it you need: 1 cup water 2 Tbs brown sugar 1/2 tsp. salt 1/3 cup butter 1 cup white flour 2 eggs 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 1/4 cup sugar 1/2 to 1 tsp. ground cinnamon, depending on taste

A: Hi You are obviously a big fan of food and love to cook different foods with a passion. I was not very good at cooking just some basic stuff which I liked. I was never brave enough to cook for other people until I came across a great recipe cook book where i just follow the instructions to get a fantastic result. I have just bought an excellent recipe guide book online where I can cook food that the top restaurants do. I have not been able to cook fabulous food until now but boy I get all these compliments from my friends and love entertaining. You should see for yourself. Bon apetit.

Why do international sporting bodies seem to despise Britain/England ? by Q: Sepp blatter of FIFA bringing goal line technology in as soon as England benefit from its absence but ignoring it when it goes against us, and now in cycling, rules have been laid which only lets one rider from a country compete in one event to 'prevent dominance'. I find that strange as GB are the dominant force in cycling, and now chris hoy isn't even alowed to equal his medal tally at beijing, USA dominate swimming but they feature most of their swimmers in multiple races as is the same with china in table tennis and badminton, seems a little strange

A: first time ive actually watched this.I the uk there was a lot of bad press about it. people were not happy at how it was done. personally i quite liked it ..it looked small due to the several thousand Chinese people in the background who had done the closing cermoney. with 8 minutes to work with it was never going to be amazing no matter what you do. lenoa lewis is a really great singer and dispite many people saying she wont last a year she is doing very well .. im happy to have her represent the UK. Page was great. dancers were a bit to arty farty for my taste :) loved the red bus folding down although having the london city skyline in christmas tree lights seemed kinda tacky :) Borris Jonson .. i really like the guy but i soo wished he had done his suit jacket up and for him to not keep sticking his hands in his pockets .. millions and millions of people watching and i thought he looked a tad scruffy :) still he is a real charater and i dont think uk people care or they wouldnt of voted him in :) ... old english saying "you cant polish a turd" .... all in all i liked it :) i live just outside London but work in the city centre most days , seemed quite "fitting" of london .... Who is your favorite non-American Olympic athlete? by brizzle Q: Some of my favorites Pau Gasol- Spanish Basketball player (LA Lakers) Usain Bolt- Jamaican Sprinter (World Record Holder) Ryan Giggs- British/Welsh Soccer Player (The most decorated player in the English Premier League's history, probably will go down as best player to never play in a world cup due to the fact he plays for Wales) Marta- Brazilian Soccer Player (5-time FIFA Women's Player of the Year) Chris Hoy- British Cyclist (Multiple Gold Medalist) Liu Xiang- Chinese Hurdler 92004 Gold Medalist) Any more?

A: any Aussie AUSSIE AUSSIE, perhaps you should have asked who is your favourite athlete from a country other than your own as this is an international site... so in the spirit of your question probably Usain Bolt

Paralympics Question? by Q: My little brother is mildly autistic. He finds it a little bit harder to mix in with people and finds it very hard to take some jokes and such. He has big plans for the future. He wants to be a gold medalist track cyclist and his idol is Chris Hoy. He practices so many times a day. So many times and he goes to lots of clubs. But today he was watching a show about Paralympic Olympians. He saw a woman with a mental Disability who was in the paralympics and he has questioned his right to be in the normal Olympics. If he were to make it, would he be allowed into the Olympics or would he have to go into the Paralympics? Thanks :) Ewen

A: It's possible to compete in the Olympics with a disability, there is no discrimination. They have the Paralympics to give those who are disabled a fair chance and the right to compete. Brian Mckeever only has 10 percent vision and was named to the Olympic team for the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Although he did not compete (he was pulled in favour of another skier) he proved that it was possible to make the Olympic team with a disability. It may be harder because of his disability, but he can compete nonetheless. I wish him well and hope that he makes the olympic team. :)

olympic cycling question? by Q: I noticed that at the olympic cycling mens sprint event, team GB were forced to pick between Chris Hoy and Jason Kenny to reperesent them.why couldnt they select both or more riders.if they are good enough to qualify then whats stopping them. i feel this is giving team GB and maybe other countries a disadcantage in the medal tables. For example Jamaca should then be forced to pick between Bolt or Powel and the USA shuld b forced to pick only one swimmer per event. I mean the USA have picked up about 20 medals in the pool where as team GB are being prohibited from picking up more cycling medals due to this strange restiction. Any ideas?

Are Spurs fans the laughing stock of London? by Mighty-Tea Q: lmao Sir Chris Hoy getting insulting Twitter messages from Spurs fans mistaking him for Chris Foy.Absolutely Hilarious hahaha

A: I've just realised that pointless is a SPURS fan... lmfao

What does this say about Spurs fans? by kwilfort Q: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/olympics/3994079/Chris-Hoy-abused-by-Spurs-fans.html Agreed YA. But it is kind of funny. Wonder what the Liverpool / Man U / fans would have done...

A: It doesn't say much, really. In every team, some sets of fans will be sure to do things like this. It just shows that when referees have a bad game and made results which affected a team's performance, the losing set of supporters will not be happy at all.

Why hasn't Linford Christie received a knighthood? by Q: Chris Hoy got his straight away, however Christie has done a lot more than Hoy

A: I think Linford Christie's bulge should receive knighthood. That thing is mighty!

Who's your pick to win the Race of Champions? by Jeff Gordon's Gay Q: Who will win in the race between Chris Hoy and Lewser Hamilton? Who wins the Champion of Champions? and who wins the Nations Cup?

A: It is going to be Michael Schumacher he is better than Lewis Hamilton.

is Bradley Wiggins in the track/Velodrome team for the Olympics? by Q: I thought I heard that Bradley Wiggins would be racing in the Track cycling too, but surely that's not true cos he's clearly a road rider, but wasn't he track riding at Beijing? I'm confused Also, if Chris Hoy wins a bunch of medals doesn't that mean he'll overtake Wiggins' British Medal record?

Who is going to be Britain's Sports Personality of the Year? by Simon G Q: going to be a tough one this year... Lewis Hamilton Rebecca Adlington Ben Ainslie Chris Hoy Andy Murray Christine Ohuruogu My thoughts 1) Chris Hoy 2) Lewis Hamilton 3) Adlington tough to choose between Hoy & Hamilton... Hoy winning 3 gold medals, a great role model and gave Britain a real boost! Hamilton, being the youngest winner of F1 world championshp... hard one isn't it?! will come down to who prefers F1/Cycling... think Lewis may edge it!

A: It's probably going to be Lewis Hamilton after winning the Formula 1 title by the closest of margins to become the youngest ever World Champion.

Just how much better can GB cyclists get and how come we can't transform this to road racing? by Carry On..! Q: With a few notable exceptions, we don't produce great distance cyclists, but on the velodrome tracks...Chris Hoy and Ryan Edgar one,two in the Keirin, Wiggins Gold in pursuit to add to the others, GB cycling the two ladies contesting the 3000m tomorrow..utter dominance. oops meant Ross Edgar!

A: Track talent has definately increased since the Manchester velodrome was built for the commonwealth games. With a centre of excellence to train and learn you will increase the numbers of top athletes but road racing is fragmented and pretty much stops at a regional level for most. That and the fact road racing covers large distances so most can't be bothered, just look at mtb downhill where the UK has several world class riders where mtb cross country has virtually no one but has olympic money grants In the UK it rains all year round. France,Spain and Italy have lovely weather and long backround in competeive cycling and we don't.

Does anyone take the new years honours seriously? by totallyfree2rhyme Q: So another new years honours list and another joke of a list. Chris Hoy the cyclist who won a couple of medals in the olympic games is now a Knight? Seriously Elizabeth, don't feel the need to give out so many honours out each year. Does anyone take this seriously anymore?

A: Well - they are a very long way from their origins in the Orders of Chivalry, and perhaps knighthoods ought to be dropped in favour of other forms of recognition. The awards for political and business 'services', which insult us all, should be dropped altogether. Remember that OBE usually means Other Buggers' Efforts! Most people would agree with the recognition of community service - although that usually qualifies only for one of the lower awards, and arguably deserves better. If anyone should qualify for a high award, it's the unsung hero/heroine who has spent half a lifetime campaigning for disabled veterans, or abused children, or supporting a local, independent sea or mountain rescue service. It might also be better if sporting achievement, or excellence in the arts, had categories of medals of their own, which would be more worthy of respect than a discredited system of handouts of alphabet soup to senior public sector managers.

How do you feel about the British deliberately crashing during the team sprint heats and winning gold? by Q: 'I crashed on purpose to get a restart,' says Hoy's team-mate Philip Hindes before changing his story Read more: http://www.theweek.co.uk/olympics/london-2012/48299/shadow-cast-over-chris-hoy-gold-hindes-admits-he-staged-crash#ixzz22WyrOJc4

How to lose muscle on thighs and buttocks? by Q: I am male, 19, about 5'9'' and 14 stone. Most of this weight is fat, however, I used to cycle a lot and this built up a lot of muscle on my legs and thighs, kinda like Chris Hoy but not so extreme, but I don't cycle much any-more. I'm not interested in bulking up my upper half and rarely exercise. I am interested in loosing weight and eating less but this is not the purpose of my question. Please help me loose muscle on my thighs and buttocks.

A: Join a Track & Field team, and train to be a long-distance runner, there are no big long-distance runners.

Did Chris Hoy a knighthood ("Sir")? by TheErrandBoy Q: Never heard of Chris Hoy until recently. Read that he was some sort of cycling legend and somehow fluked a "Sir" award. There are so many more accomplished sportsmen who should have been awarded a Sir but out of nowhere this relatively unknown cyclist fluke a knighthood award. What was that all about?

A: Yes, he did.

how many gold medals did Chris Hoy win in the 2008 olympics? by Q:

A: He won three gold medals in the men's individual sprint event, the men's team sprint event and the men's keirin event.

What bike did chris hoy use to win gold in bejing? that unmarked black one? by krv101 Q:

Why do I love Chris Hoy so much? by Q: Oh ok, so a girl loving a guy is what gay means nowadays!! Thanks for the picture in any case ;] Rainbows don't just exist to be associated with homosexuality.. I could be a young person who likes rainbows. If the homosexual reference is valid though, I could also be a lesbian who loves Chris Hoy in a non-sexual way :] Or even bisexual ;]

A: How do we know what sex you are from the name "Rainbow Delight"? Rainbows are affiliated with the gay community. It would only be natural to assume from the question and your screen name you might be gay. http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr4/PsychoPinto/Black%20Men/My%20Universal%20Love%20Album/Gay-Pride-Rainbow-Poster-715307.jpg http://www.johncoulthart.com/feuilleton/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/gay_flag1.jpg

how did cyclist chris hoy become the ambassador for the 2012 games held in london? by hightower1123 Q:

A: Chris Hoy lead the GB team to a record medal tally in the track cycling, he is the first cyclist to win 3 individual cycling golds at the same games, for 100 years. Edit: The track cyclists won every event except 3, the Men's and Women's Points races, and the Madison. Never been done before ! Could anybody give me some tips or on how to present a talk to a class on Chris Hoy the GB Olympian ? by Biscuits Q: I'm looking for some facts on him. Some general tips for public speaking & Help to keep the talk interesting Get back as soon as possible !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A: I know quite a bit about his background. When he was younger he played rugby and represented Scotland as a junior rower. Before he was involved in track cycling he was doing BMX and he was ranked in the top ten in the world. I also know that he first started track cycling at the Meadowbank velodrome in Edinburgh and he supports Heart of Midlothian.

How many insults will Chris HOY receive tonight on twitter? by Q:

A: oh...poor baby..

Who would win in a cycling sprint between Chris Hoy and Mark Cavendish? by Q: i'd say Hoy in all honesty.

A: Although Cavendish is a sprinter in road race terms that only means that he can sprint after having ridden about 200 km so his body is conditioned for stamina and endurance. Chris Hoy is conditioned for an explosive burst of sprinting speed round the velodrome and in a track sprint he would beat Cavendish by a wide margin. At the end of a road race however Cavendish would beat Hoy in a sprint finish.

Who is better cyclist- Sir Chris Hoy or Tour de France champion? by TheErrandBoy Q: If Chris Hoy is such an awesome cyclist why didn't he win Tour de France?

A: Neither. Eddy Merckx. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eddy_Merckx
